Blogging: Four Things You May Not Know About It

Blog is short for web log and a web log is simply a website, one to which the owner adds articles, news, reports, product updates and other information to benefit visitors or actual customers. A blog can be created, added to and amended entirely online. Most websites you design and upload yourself can be costly in terms of time, money and effort, some very good blogging sites can be obtained very inexpensively, often free of charge.

Your blog can also be monetized in much the same ways as other websites, including article sites, article directories, forwarding sites and so on. So we are looking here at very cheap way to add links and affiliate promotions to a site that already exists online and can be accessed and amended by you through your browser.

There are reasons why blogging is so immensely popular today. Here are just four:

• There is no html to learn and no special techie knowledge required to create regular and very professional blog entries. The blog will begin as a template of your choice into which you simply key afresh or import your information. Once the basic template is created, usually via a series of choices and accept/reject buttons, all you have to do is select and add monetizing elements, give your blog a name, add some information and off you go.

• Many Internet users prefer accessing blogs than other Internet information sites for the fact they are updated regularly, sometimes several times a day, so hot information always awaits them.

• Search engines love blogs, primarily because the best blogs change daily, unlike many traditional sites which are altered only when new marketing concepts dictate. Another reason blogs frequently rank higher than they traditional website counterparts is that they are almost entirely content based, with perhaps a few monetizing elements like AdSense or some affiliate links, unlike most websites which are marketing focused and packed with advertisements and invitations to buy.

• Niche blogs are especially likely to rank high in search engine rankings primarily those focusing on a really tight niche with few competing blogs.
